I am sorry to say but it has been documented in medical journals that reinfection is most definitely possible and has occurred. Doctors find it difficult to tell if you are having a reactivation or if what you have is a reinfection. There is testing that can be done but it rarely is. Here is one example: In laboratory workers that already had VF they accidentally inhaled new spores in the lab and consequently got sick again. They were doing well until then.
Dr. Einstein says that the only mask that will keep cocci out is a Minor's Mask. If one stays in or goes back to an endemic area they can be reinfected. Anyone that tells you otherwise is not being honest with you or just doesn't know. Sharon
