Confused Iss it really possible, after being treated and told I am cured, that Valley Fever symptoms, that persistent fever, can return? I have had days of a persistent fever with no other symptoms. It feels just like when I was orginally sick. You can't find a doctor who believes this or is mildly interested, but you survivors may know. Am I nuts or normal?

No you are not nuts!! I have been dealing with various symptoms
for eleven years. I am lucky to have five to seven days
a month of feeling somewhat normal. I fought through it
as long as I could thinking it would go away. I had always
been strong, had a passion for my career but have moved
back to the midwest, lost my position at the business of
which I am still a shareholder of. No one can believe what
this disease can do to an individual, not even the doctors.
I went through all the standard testing, from antifungal
medicine to spinal taps, and came to the conclusion to
treat the symptoms with medications that at least let
me function. I am out of denial and have accepted my
condition knowing there is no cure. I know my body and
understand the difference between normal aging medical
problems and what I am experiencing. Good luck!!

You are never 'cured' of VF. It does go into remission, can stay in remission for your lifetime, or not. Stress will bring it on, overdoing it will bring it on, don't let yourself get run down, make sure you get enough rest. This is your new way of life. Eat well, talk with Sharon and Dave about supplements and diet. Prevention is the key. Stay away from sugar and processed foods. You might try to find an ID doctor in your area. If you need suggestions on a doc you should post here, letting everyone know where you are, and maybe post also on the Valley Fever Survivor Support group page on Facebook if you're there. Hang in there and make sure you are resting while under attack.
