I was contacted by Jason Shoultz, a reporter from KVIE Public Television to do an interview about Valley Fever (Sharon set this up). We met in San Diego at the PETCO Park (home of the Padres). They were there to also interview Robin Smith. I had time to chat with Robin and we traded VF stories (some of which was recorded). They did a one on one interview with Robin then one with me. We discussed our life with VF, how we contracted it, and how we are dealing with it. KVIE does a lot of medical related stories and they decided to do one on VF to help spread the word. I am thankful for this, perhaps if it 'goes viral' more folks will be aware and more money be made available for research on producing a vaccine.

Once the footage they took is edited and combined with other information they have been collected it will be aired in the Sacramento area. Jason told me that it will also be available 'on-line', so when I get that info I will post it here for all to read. I will also post it on FaceBook and I encourage all to 'share' this video with all their friends on their personal feeds. This will get out to millions very quickly and perhaps increase the awareness of this deadly disease.

Hi Jerry,
I am looking forward to seeing this, too. Jason set up an interview with me in Tucson. We were there visiting relatives and he had a friend of his from the PBS affiliate in Tucson do the interview regarding my brother, Max. I even mentioned you in the interview as it was your story that made me request Max be tested for VF in the first place.

The interview took 3 hours but I'm sure my section will last about 2 minutes. I hope it brings awareness to the many people who don't know or understand how serious this disease is. Hopefully, it will also bring in the needed funding for research.

Looking forward to seeing you and Robin in the interview. Love you guys!

I received an email from Jason:
Our documentary on Valley Fever is now being edited and it is going to be great. It is scheduled to air March 26th at 7pm on KVIE in Sacramento and also online at http://www.kvie.org.

I'm writing to invite you to the upcoming screening for ViewFinder: Deadly Dust - Valley Fever in the West on March 19th. We will present the program and have a Q &A session with Dr. George Thompson from U.C. Davis following the viewing. Tickets to the screening are free. We know many people are unfamiliar with the disease so the program and discussion will offer some good insight. Your help was a important part of the documentary so I'm hoping you will be able to attend. Please pass along the invite to anyone who might interested in the topic.

Here is the link for tickets and more details: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/viewfinder-deadly-dust-valley-fever-in-the-west-free-screening-tickets-10581195641

And here is our Facebook link for the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/453280164801271/?ref_newsfeed_story_type=regular

I am doing well Bill, hope all is well with you too.

Kat, thanks for the mention. I too am curious as to how much that was taped will actually be aired.

I saw the video [and the extra clips as well]. Congratulations to both of you [and everyone else] for representing the VF community so well. The video was excellently produced, held my attention, and all you were such articulate spokespersons...I hope the doc gets a lot of airplay and it becomes one more tool in the war to get VF noticed and the research funded. Perhaps one day we will win this war.

Thanks again!
All the best,
Susan
