Dave; do you know of anyone who does soil testing for Cocci? There has been a case of V.F. reported in San Jose, Ca. with no out of area exposure.
Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill, soil testing is complicated since cocci has microscopic filaments in the soil and one sample might have no spores while a sample an inch away might have millions. However my best bet for a complete answer would be to contact the UC Davis Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology to see what they think about coccidioidomycosis soil testing possibilities. Their phone number is (530) 752-9402 and they might have some good suggestions.

All my best,
