I'm new here, but have been reading many of your messages. I too have valley fever, which I never heard of till I moved to Arizona for my 'health'!!! Yeah, my doctor in Indiana said it would be good for me to move out there because of my asthma. Of course, no one here in Indiana ever heard of VF, nor had I, till I got it! I was in bed for 3 weeks, and finally the doctor diagnosed my condition. Then I heard that dogs could get it too. I have a little toy poodle, and she's my 'life', so guess what I did......I quit my good job out there, and moved back to Indiana as fast as I could! I just hope I didn't make the move too late, as now Midgy is vomiting a couple times a day! Does anyone know if that can be a symptom of VF??? Her weight and appetite remain good, and she doesn't ever 'act' sick.....it's just the vomiting. But if it keeps up even after the new food my vet has put her on, I will DEMAND a cocci titer, even if I have to send my vet to valleyfeversurvivor.com to figure out what this awful illness is!!! I totally blame Arizona for this, and hate the day I ever moved out there!! I tell everyone who will listen here about valley fever, to discourage them from taking a 'vacation' out that way....

Thank you for the suggestion of putting food into a blender and using the syringe. Tippy has been nibbling on chicken and some sliced ham. Did not eat anyting yesterday just turned her nose up. I work full time and am very busy with children after school. My neighbor had gone over the day before Thanksgiving and was hand feeding her. We had four glorious days off with her. I will get some food into Tippy tonight. Sad thing is her fever was up this morning; although her spirits are great! She wags her tail and still "smiles."

Thanks again.

Hi - We are finding that cut up chicken or ground beef, beef broth and instant mashed potatoes will get her to eat anything. Hope this helps. Our vet said for our 60 pound dog, 3 cups per day, half protein and half carbs. Our dog is doing really well now.
