Once you are positive for valley fever as evidenced by a blood test, how quickly should one get on an anti-fungal?

Thanks,
Heidi

Heidi; As soon as possible; are you being treated for the V.F. by an Infectious Disease Doc or Primary Care Dr.? Your Dr. should have gone over the test results with you and explained them. If it was a skin test thats more of an indicator that you have the infection whereas the Complement Fixation Test shows the degree to which you are ill; we commonly refer to that as our Titers; shown as a ratio like 1: 8.
There are good explanations regarding this test on this web site.
The longer you wait to start the anti-fungal meds carries the risk of the Cocci spreading somewhere else in your body and can have serious results.
