Hi all
Im here again with another question. This time with rashes. I have noticed since the start of my ordeal that I had some urticaria type rash on the side of my neck, behind my ears inner thighs, and arms. They seem to have gone away last week. But I kept having bumps on my face that look like a mosquito bite and they also disappear after a day or two. Yesterday I noticed some rashes on the side of my neck and below my collar bone. They look like prickly heat rashes but they are not itchy. I am really paranoid now if the VF has disseminated to my skin. So far I feel better though and just took my last dose of antibiotics because my doctor told me because my VF screening test came out negative. I don't really know what to think of now. While waiting for my VF book, I think I remember reading somewhere that the rashes are a good sign, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you

Hi k_poh...

I've never heard that the rashes are a good sign. I don't know where you heard that but as someone who has the rashes, what they mean to me is that I have come into contact with something that caused my skin to react in a very unattractive way. It sounds to me like the VF has gone into your skin but it won't necessarily get worse than what is happening now. Not everyone gets the lesions. For some reason the VF makes the skin reactive to unknown antigens. Once it started with me, it hasn't ever stopped but follows exactly the pattern you describe..it comes and goes.

I went to Italy this summer and thought I would be fine because it was so far away but instead I got the usual rash on my legs when I walked in dusty places [oddly, mostly churches] and had to wrap them with plastic wrap to keep it down.

Don't take antibiotics for the VF rash, if that's why they are prescribed, that is the wrong course of treatment. There is a prescription anti-fungal cream called NYSTATIN that you can use topically..including on your face. Antibiotics don't do a thing for VF but make things easier for it. This doesn't just apply to the rash but they change the body chemistry and allow the cocci fungus to thrive.Do you take fluconazole? Sharon just posted on the Facebook page that rashes were one of the side effects of flu. as well as being a product of VF.

Try keeping your skin really clean..I use baby wipes that I carry around to just wipe down periodically. That seems to help. VF is a stinking Pandora's box of side effects.

All the best,
Susan

Thank you very much Susan for your explanation about the rashes.

Based on my previous blood tests, I was lead to think that I don't have VF but something else. But reading all about the signs and symptoms which I have, I begin to think otherwise.

I am still waiting for my second blood results....
